The Clearlake Road Project: 3 adult
females & 8 precious pups Start Date: July 2011 Rescue Coordinator: Diana, Kelley & Kathy August 2011
Thanks
to OOTW foster Mom, Summer J., all of the pups were removed from this dangerous situation within a week. Summer took all six
of the remaining pups and within a few days we found more foster homes to help her out. The Golden mix pup was taken to Golden
Rescue in Memphis, and he has already been ADOPTED! A huge thanks to Becky L, who took one of the pups now renamed Drake and
Penni I. who took another that has been named Conrad. Two of the three pups, Cadbury and Belfrey, are ADOPTED to a great home
who took both of them!
The two hound mix pups, renamed Natalie and Jenny, had hip surgery this month and are doing
great. PVAH released them and Lauren P. and Kelley B. each took one pup to foster. We are so blessed to have such dedicated
foster homes! Both girls are doing well and we hope to place them up for adoption soon.
After all the pups were
taken from this rescue site, only 3 adult females remained who needed to be spayed. Two of the dogs have now gone missing
in the past couple of weeks, but we will ensure that the remaining dog, Lindsey, is spayed. We have encouraged William to
build a fence to keep her and any future dogs safe from being hit by passing cars.

July 2011
William lives alone.....well not really.
He lives with quite a few dogs! and as much as he is trying to care for them, things have gotten way out of hand. Two lovely
Mama dogs have each had a litter of pups of which only 8 puppies remain of the initial 20... why? because William lives on
a busy road and has no fence. So Diana, Kelley and Kathy made the
journey on a hot Sunday afternoon to this rural setting in Saline County to see what we could do to help.
Two of the pups had injuries from being hit by passing vehicles. We could not
let that happen again so we gave William a roll of fencing and he will be putting up a pen to keep the pups safe while we
find FOSTER and FOREVER homes! The two injured puppies were taken to Pinnacle
Valley Animal Hospital to receive care that we could not give. They needed pain medicine and to be assessed for their injuries.
They will need to have surgery, as they each have fractures. They will be operated on after receiving a few days of pain medication
and antibiotics to ensure that they will heal quickly. They will need a special foster home to see them through the medical
care. Could you be the one to help them through this
journey? All the dogs were covered with fleas, ticks, sores, old
injuries and skinny with bloated bellies from intestinal worms. There was plenty to be done; the Moms and pups were vaccinated,
wormed, and given flea/tick medication.

The video is the next best thing to
being there with us and you will see once again WHY we do what we do!
