Have you taken in a homeless dog or cat?
We at Out Of The Woods help
independent rescuers who will take responsibility for the dog or cat that they have
rescued. We do not have a shelter or foster homes available, but if you will
foster or find a committed foster home for your rescue, we can help.
What we will do for you...
- We will list your rescue on multiple websites and offer assistance with screening perspective homes.
- Provided you use one of our clinics, we offer you discounted veterinarian
services for your rescue.
- Once
your pet is adopted we will refund the
adoption donation to you.
What
you need to do for us... We need an email confirmation from you agreeing to the following terms: - That you will use our adoption application including a veterinarian reference. We will assist
you with the screening process if you are unfamiliar
with doing so.
- That you
will charge an adoption fee. On local adoptions we ask for donation of $150.00 for dogs, $90.00 for cats. Paying
the adoption fee demonstrates a commitment from the adoptive family as well as helping
you to recover your costs for taking care of your rescue and hopefully enable you to do so again.
- That you will obtain an adoption contract
from the adoptive home. Again, we will assist you with this. You
can see our adoption application and adoption contract by going to the "Adoptable Pets" page. You can even copy it out and use it, or we will be happy to send you a copy
of either upon request.
- We need three good pictures of your rescued pet, a close-up of the face, a full body shot plus one other, your choice. Having
good pictures increases your chances of getting your pet adopted!
- A short story about how you came to have or find the animal with description of
their personality traits and other items of interest. It should be written the way you want
it to appear on the websites.
- Your contact information.
It takes commitment from you, but Out Of The Woods can "help" you "help" homeless pets.
