Rosie's Story
We are so grateful for all you have done to help Rosie! We appreciate your well
wishes, positive thoughts, prayers and donations. YOU are making the difference for her that she truly needed! We hope to
have your ongoing support for this dear one that will need lots of TLC for the next few months. Thanks so much! Kathy
March 2011
Rosie is now ready for her forever home.
The Vet has
declared Rosie as fully recovered, healed and better than ever and she proves it everyday with her eagerness to run and play
at every opportunity.
Rosie is now 6 to 7 months old and is believed to be a Beagle/Lab
mix. She weighs about 30lbs and is UTD on all vetting including her spay and microchip. She gets along very well with other
dogs and cats.

"Rosie free at last!" Dr. Peck said Rosie was well enough to have her pins and casts removed from her legs.
She is a little wobbly from lack of exercise and will have physical therapy at home, which
she seems to like because she always wants to gives kisses or maybe because she is such a brave little girl.
Rosie has a few scars from the surgery but once her grows back they won't show. Hopefully after her next appointment she'll be allowed to run and play with the other dogs,
at any rate she'll be running with the best of them soon.
December 2010
Dec. 1, 2010: Little Rosie had her first Vet visit
after her operation. Dr. Peck changed Rosie's bandages and stated she was doing well. She will continue to be on antibiotics
and pain medication. She will still have to be crated for a least 4 more weeks and not allowed to move too much. With all
this little Rosie doesn't complain or whine, she just wags her tail despite the fact that it is broken.
Rosie will have another check up and x-rays in about 4 more weeks, hopefully if all goes
well she will have the pins and splints removed. We will keep everyone updated as to her progress.

Dec. 10, 2010: Rosie has this endearing, sweet little face.
Her soft fur and calm demeanor makes her all the more huggable. Rosie
is very alert and as puppy-like as they come and she is growing quite rapidly! You can tell when she watches the other puppies
play that she really wants a piece of the action too, as she can barely contain herself.
Rosie has two more weeks
of being confined to the crate before her follow up with Dr. Peck. Once her legs heal up, Rosie will make some lucky person
the finest of pets.
November 2010
Four month old Rosie was found by OOTW foster Mom, Diana, sitting
motionless on a gravel drive. She didn't move even when Diana came close, because she couldn't. Rosie must have been
hit by a car and we feared the worst, that maybe she had a spinal injury. Thank God it wasn't as bad as that but it was bad
enough as x-rays revealed that both femurs (thigh bones) and her tail were broken and her injuries were over a week old. Rosie's
only hope was to have surgery without delay. We found a vet, Dr Peck who does orthopedics and who was
willing to do Rosie's surgery at a discounted price.
Even with a discount, Rosie's surgery is expensive for a little
rescue group like OOTW even without all our other rescue projects.
But no matter what, we at OOTW believe this
precious pup's life is worth the cost and Rosie will be a blessing to us all.
Little Rosie
came though surgery just fine, both femurs had to be “pinned'’ and she will have to wear a casts for up to 6 weeks. Dr. Peck said Rosie is a dog of strength, considering all the suffering she had to endure just to get this far.
Rosie is now back at her foster home recovering.
Diana and Ray have committed to fostering Rosie for as
long as it takes to get back on her feet, and then we will find her the home of her dreams.
Thanks to all of you for the "love" you are sending Rosie's
way! She is feeling much better and on her way to the best part of her life, no more suffering for her, just lots of love. We are so grateful for the compassionate
folks who support our efforts in
so many ways. YOU are truly making a difference!!! And a special thanks to Diana & Ray for fostering Rosie.
